| Golden Apple Central Illinois announced the names of 10 winners for the 2008 Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching in grades pre-K through 12. |

| Each of the 10 Golden Apple Award winners will receive a tuition-free spring-term sabbatical at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a personal computer, $3,000, and membership in the Golden Apple Central Illinois Academy of Educators, which is organized to ensure that all children have the excellent teachers they deserve. |

| The winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on June 7 at the Krannert Center for Performing Arts, Champaign, IL, which subsequently will be aired as a one-hour prime-time special on WILL. |
